The location offers convenient access to the A390 without much road noise, making for a decent resting spot. There's ample storage in the room with a huge wardrobe and a hospitality tray provided daily.
The triple room featured musty air upon entry, with noticeable wear on bedding items like runners and cushions. A lack of freshness in the sheets raised concerns about cleaning frequency. The absence of a cooked breakfast felt misleading for a bed and breakfast, and the heating in the room wasn’t operational at night, necessitating a heater request. The beds and mattress protectors were quite dated, and there were issues with getting to the property from the busy main road, which could be frustrating for drivers.

The Fieldings is a lovely place to stay! The Family Room with Bathroom was very clean and comfortable, and the breakfast options were fantastic with a cozy breakfast room. The hosts, Mike and Averil, were incredibly welcoming and offered great tips on local attractions—felt like home!
Nothing major, just a bit cramped.

The mattress was unbelievably hard, absolutely NOT what one would expect. the beddings could’ve been cleaner. it’s 2023 after all. I would’ve loved a complimentary upgrade—after all, I’m not just any guest. I almost wrote a good review, but I just couldn’t. disappointed, to say the least.

Why I’m torn on this
A warm welcoming atmosphere and thoughtful tips on dining elevated my stay. I appreciated the brunch box prepared for my early check-out—surpassing expectations!
The bathroom access was inconvenient. having to leave my room felt odd,, and parking access from the busy road can be tricky.

Recommend it for families
Had a great stay! Mike and his wife were cute and their tips led us to hidden gems we wouldn't have found otherwise. The breakfast spread was beyond what you'd expect from a typical place, with lots of choices like croissants and even some tasty cheese and ham. They even let us use the dining room when our kid needed a late meal, very flexible! The room was immaculate, everything we needed was there.
A bit pricey but not outrageous.
